Rambling #1

I just realise that even a rambling on my blog helps to keep it updated.

Breaking on tues was fun.
We were horsing around.
With a sick air baby no one could do.

Shopped at bugis and got the stuff i wanted whoo~
With about $40-$50 left, where can i get a nice vest?

Reminescence

Going out with the 4A people was really great today.
Surprisingly, there wasn't the awkward silence that i expected, PTL.
It was like chatting with old friends.

Can i say thank God for O's?
HAHAHA
Because it was really a main topic today, talking about subs and everything.
YJ's left out cos of IP programme, awww.

Guess there's so much to chat about even when we're all taking our seperate paths.
I guess its good, that we take time to meet the people that we've once crossed paths with.
Building relationships, isn't that great.
When you're all alone, lost and looking for counsel,
you can always fall back to one ship,
and that's friendship.
(Of course i'll always look towards God first though. Hahaha)

Sentosa and sun burns.

A Short Reflection

THANKS! for the million and one sms'es and phone calls.
To all the people that made a difference in my life today, i can't help but have only the deepest gratitude for you.

This also goes out to all the hardworking teachers at CHS.
Though i've never liked to be associated much with the school but still, i still think that the staff deserves a standing ovation for their effort!
Thanks!
Goes out especially to:

Ms Krishnan
Mrs Ling
Mdm Ee
Mr Yong
Mr Tan
Mr Thomas
Mr Fernandez(Fitler)
Mr Heng
Ms Tan
Mr Krishnan
Ms Chua
Ms Wong
Mr Tan
MJ
Mrs Tan

Thanks for everything!

So now when one chapter has passed, here comes the other.
Sure I might not have made it into the JC that i wanted to go.
Maybe was it because i didn't want it that much?
Or maybe my focus was diverged?
Still, i won't blame anyone else for the results i get.
Don't get me wrong, i'm not whining.

But i don't know why, i'm not feeling that happy inside.
Prolly have to pray and ask.
Maybe its cos of English and History.
Or pride.
Hopefully not.
Or is it God trying to show me something?

Still, all in all I want to thank God!
Seriously, i don't think O's would have been possible without God.
Like when i was studying for geog on the day itself and the topics that came out, exactly the same that i studied, you can bet there's divine intervention.
And chinese!
Like woah. A1.
1M, 1M, 1M.
It isn't 1-Merit, its 1-Miracle.

Ah i guess sometimes, when everything doesn't turn out the way you wanted it to, you can always find something to be thankful for.
Screw it if i get 2 for hist and eng, this mountain isn't the teeniest comparable to my God.

Because He is over all.

Results

So the much awaited results finally come out and everyone is probably anxious to know the results.

*Drum roll*

L1R5: 10
L1B4: 8

Everything is raw yeah.
Hmm i think probably AJ or SA now.
Checking the scholarships they offer.

To my fellow peers: When choosing a JC, consider your University opportunities.

Honor

Before i start posting anything, this goes out to all the billions of people who've sms'ed, msn'ed, wrote on my wall, commented on my status changes, and changed their status just to wish me best of luck for results later.
I just wanna say: THANK YOU!

Sorry if the following post is going to sound more medicore than my normal writing standard.
I've been out of touch with writing for a long, long time.

Service today was fantastic and Pst. John Bevere is a really really really really really AMAZING preacher!

Not forgetting that he's humourous as well.
Today's message was really impactful, about honoring others.
Honoring those above you, on the same level as you as well as those beneath you.

And to honor is to respect, no matter in what medium.
Words, action, heart & thought.
Yes in the heart and thought as well.

His message today made me realise some things.

Sometimes when we are placed under authority(be it teachers, bosses, or ministry leaders),
don't we sometimes resent the place we are in?

"How much better it would be if I were in their position instead."

Or sometimes we think that what they do isn't right and we, holding on to our beliefs, choose to go against what they do.
Be it method or attitude that spites us, we have had some form of silent rebellion that only we know of.

Your Parents?

Today, Pst. John said that its not about the nasty boss you have, but its recognising the authority that is given to him.
Since all authority is given by God, honoring your angry, impatient, biased and incompetent overseer is also honoring God.

How many times have we dishonoured God or have we not placed value in God because we have not honored a higher authority?

And about honouring people on the same level - peers.
The last time you got angry at, made a nasty remark, insulted, cheated, lied to someone whom you considered a friend or even at the level of an aquintance, you have dishonoured that person.

Sure you could reason you weren't that half bad.
But when was the last time you had a misguided thought to judge someone else?

Lastly, sometimes this is the hardest to fulfill - Honouring those beneath you.
Those that are under your authority.
Some may ask, how can i have anyone under me?
Your younger siblings, your team members, your juniors, your younger cousins, anyone who is learning from you(I won't say disciple because its not applicable to all)?

Is it just all about giving orders, orders and more orders?
Do this, do that, because i'm above you.

It irks me sometimes when i see maids being treated in such a manner,

Have you ever considered going down to their level to interact with them?
Have you ever wished them even a simple "Happy Birthday"?

Have you honoured these people today?

Shangri-la food is the bomb!
Flavourful mango ice-cream ahaha.
Loved the white clams, look alot like abalone.

Service in 9 hours time?
Must wake up, must wake up.

Finding a reason to pray everyday.

Results, results, results.

The big day awaits 12 Jan.
I remember talking with Manfred once about why O's is always on thursday.

Me: "O's on 12th or 15th ah? Keep changing date sia."

Lum: "Should be on 15th lah, always come out on thursdays."

Me: "Wa seh, like movie sia."

*Lum now gives me the GL stare plus face*
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when desire comes, it is a tree of life.

Direction

I think i've probably lost part of it this holidays.
But i must say its been one of the most memorable holidays i've ever had.
And fruitful too.
Not just pure gaming at home.

I just wonder, after all the late night outs and chilling, why do i come back and find myself empty again.
Hmm...
Am i asking for too much?
I don't know, i need a confidante.

A year of consecration, a year of consecration.
If you can't be faithful in the little things, how can you be faithful in much?

Taking action is then my most major flaw.

When you've seen so much and have been inspired so much, it really takes something new to inspire you all over again.
Just one thing, just one.

Who can i turn to?

Monday, January 5, 2009

So many things have passed!
After the one week chalet marathon i think i can finally take a break.

G2S4/5 Thanksgiving was a success, letting me breathe again. -whew-

What's left with Jan?
I wonder.
Job job job.
I need the dough.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Season's greetings everybody!
To everyone's that reading:
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Ho ho ho, its christmas day!
Pressies everywhere, except on my lap. Haha.
But thanks to the people that gave me presents!

Another fun day out today.
And NUM isn't just gay, its EXPENSIVE.
A single tee costs like what? $50++?

Jolin's attempt to trick Harvey failed and onion rings get eaten when you shake your head. HAHAHA

Ok its cold outside, ~its cold outside, its cold inside~
Only those that listen would probably know haha!
Vulnerable by Secondhand Serenade by the way.

28 dec onwards is chalet madness.
28 dec - MG chalet
31 dec-2 Jan - CG chalet
2 Jan-3 Jan - Class chalet
4 Jan - Section BBQ

OH GAWD just when i thought all the busy-ness(but if you pronouced it together it makes the word 'business',isn't english interesting?) would die away with the end of Christmas.

GUESS NOT HAHAHAHA
People are probably thinking i'm mad but its ok, i'm group 7.

And i've just thought up this today:

You know how they like to say, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away."?
I'd like to say, "A prayer a day keeps the devil away."

Hello people, i currently have a job as a part-time sales man so help me out here people!

Here's a catalogue of the wonderful, versatile things i'm selling: Cardigans!
A sneak peek of the thing itself:

Christmas Special!
Also available in red-on-white.
Many thanks in advance :D

Merry Christmas with Love

Merry Christmas to all who may dwell here,
Merry Christmas to even just one.
May the joy of the season surround you,
Merry Christmas, With Love.

It was a unbelivable day yesterday!
Like I'm super dazed at the fact that Isabella told me!
Interesting.

Yesterday was fun, especially the 9pm onwards part.
Misadventures with plenty of fun.
But i was slightly distracted by the section outing stuff.
So much to work on.

Still, it was enjoyable!
The xiao long bao, HAHA
"Must slowly drink the juice inside but not too much, so that when you eat, you can eat with the juice."
"AHHHH!"
Thanks Isabella, for the food and the cab there!

And this cool new skate thing we saw at Plaza Sing, it would be nice if i had it as a Christmas gift(hint hint).

Surviving through a midnight ordeal, i have no idea, but i had a dream, or rather a nightmare that reminded me of the movie 28 days later.
I prayed myself to sleep.

2 Tim 1:7 (NIV)
"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline."

Merry Christmas with Love

Maybe it was all  predestined?
To not have a friend for MyHope.
Inspiring yeah.

Massive camwhore after cell.
With nice noodles -yummy-

New way to type with the "- -"
Probably influnced from Enqi and Amanda(Jap).
With Enqi being the one with more influence haha!

Christmas is coming!
Busy time, already with plans in mind.

Jaunts and Junkets

Hello my faithful readers, its been a tiring one day the last two days.
It felt like one although it was two, maybe because i only slept 90 minutes throughout the entire two days.
Wed was photo outing with the cell and after that was iMedia chalet.

Photo outing was shooting people!
Not scenery!
So i felt somewhat cheated.
But it was fun anyway.
And i was super early as usual.
Messaging with other's phone is a dangerous, fun and thrilling act.

iMedia chalet was a little low energy, and master chef cooked about 20 chicken wings that tasted somewhat raw.
Manfred the storyteller has lots of CCFs to tell.
And also CPF. HAHAHA

After that was midnight attempt to buy booze but failed even with lum's secret trick.
YZ dam pissed.

Murderer was confusing.
Werewolf often got Darren burnt on the stick.
Like almost every round HAHA

And i've got a new haircut!
By the way, the title of the post include two synonyms for outing :D

Consecutive Outing Day 1

BBQ was fun today!
Of course again it rained, but THANK GOD!
It wasn't for too long.

And I realise everytime i try to start a bbq it rains.
The last time i did at my own home it did too.
Cheng Hao said i'm not fated to start bbqs!
Haha but i'm not believing in fate, God is whom i trust!
Next bbq: Wed iMedia Chalet! HAHA

Ok my fire not big lah!
Joanne's bigger lah!
Traitors! (HAHAHA)

Cheng Hao to the rescue and made the fire super hot.
"Consuming Fire
FAN into FLAMES"
HAHAHA

Ok i better get to sleep.
Dental plus another day of outing.

Guys the pictures are on facebook alr, i've alr tagged some of you haha!

I find this word super amusing:

dastard \DAS-terd\, noun:

a mean coward

Music

If reading is nourishment for your mind, then music is nourishment for your soul.
Why is everything so empty all of a sudden?
Is it because the relationship is too distant?
Or is it because i haven't been doing what i'm supposed to be.

I don't want it this way.

Sure i would want it the way i had in the past;
But Greater Things have yet to come.

And i believe in that.
To all dec camp superteens, for an official site where you can interact with one another more efficiently instead of lynette's(HAHA)/enqi/my blog, here's the link.

Keep your suggestions coming in! Enqi is the current blogmaster.

I forgive, I forgive, I forgive.

From OLD to NEW

So yesterday, Marc and Lynette were both trying to stuff me full with their surprises at the Old Hong Kong Cafe in katong.
But thanks guys for the treats!
Haha!

The Godzilla was monstrous!
So much chocolate until can compete with Cadbury bar.

And the Happy Punch made me happy cos it tasted like alcohol haha!
But the cocktail was sickening, sorry i'm not a fan of preserved fruit.

What else, hmm oh yes, the super surprises:

Lotus roots patty!?
Unique dish i must say, the meat has the lotus aroma all around it.
Think of it as a hamburger with lotus roots replaced as the buns.
Very interesting.
Not something for the faint-hearted though haha.

Stuffed Green Pepper?!
Now this is really a strong smelling dish.
The green pepper is very, zesty.
So its something that will really wake you up.
The meat is quite tender and not overcooked.
Minced very well.
And everything is soaked in a generous helping of black pepper sauce.

For more intake on the reviews, please visit Lynette's blog for the video coverage.

Today's locking lesson was fun, and probably the easiest dance class i've ever attended.
Very simple, yet so stylish.
I think locking is going to be my fav dance style.
Easier that breakdance and c-mtv(HAHA DARRYN&YZ!)
New entry to mg: Woonie
And my scarf and jackets are back!
Wonder if got taiwan aura around them haha.
A short trip to spotlight after that to check out capital required.
XIN WANG after that!
Yesterday LAO WANG, today XIN WANG XIANG GANG CHA CAN TING
HAHAHA.
Maggie mee lolzmonger.

Alright tmr is resource outing plus EDGE! night.
Busy busy.
Still have to call up Waraku! tmr.
So many things, so little time.
How all very familar, hmm~

Just to keep things going

Camouflage myself from enqi who's out with a vengeance.
Haha

Oh and i wanted to blog about saturday night/sunday morning MISadventures.
HAHAHA
Ed, Mell and me waited like 2 stops before alighting and cabbed to chomp! chomp!
And by that time was no oyster omelette and satay bee hoon.
Ah well, but at least there was stingray! Haha shoiking

Next few days are planning planning planning.
Busy week next week, multiple outings plus Candlelight service.
All are invited for service!

And God i pray, i really need a open door.

Sunday, December 7, 2008

Camp co, wasn't expected.
Oh well, but i think it was almost a flawless performance.
Well done resource!

Another Day, Another Time

EZ-Link
Sunday 23/11 - $7++
Saturday 29/11 - $1.05

Oh well, chomp chomp was a chomping good time on friday night with a cab and misguided last train home thought.

Today was 10am support that was late.
The usual chairs and stuff, link link link and our black cloth is super nice thanks to professional curtain retailers like me.
Ok babbling.

And Ivan should not hold other people handphones because "I love you."
Weird stares from people when i'm in my haviannas plus shorts HAHA
Alvin doesn't want to be seen eating on the floor.

Long time since I've attended service(not serving) and really feels good.
Anyway today was a short, succinct and super message.
Pastor Tan is funny ahaha.

And once in a while, it pays to be recognised for the hard work you've put in!
HAHAHA!

Ah well, Glory to God!

Thursday, November 27, 2008

This is more certainly more than random but i was just wondering how some of my friends are getting real obsessed about getting jobs/work. (NOT laid - but i don't know how this came to my mind)
And so, we(some of us) slog for 4 years for results results results and we end up without a goal, without an aim and without a purpose in this break that we're supposed to take.

I guess this working during holidays is really a prominent culture all over the world.
All i'm asking is, is there a need to be so overly obsessed with desiring a job?

Just because everyone else is, must you?
Just because your parents tell you to, must you?(ok maybe sometimes haha!)
Just because you have nothing else to do, must you?

Getting caught up in everyone else's culture, when are we going to define our own?

Its YOUR holidays.

Don't let others define what you want to do.

I think holidays are the best for learning something new.
K Hip-hop, Acapella, Drums, Bahasa Indonesia & Melayu, Japanese, Cycling, Skateboarding, Breakdancing, Popping, Locking, Guitar, Saxophone, Design

Life isn't measured by the money you earn, its measured by the experiences you have.

And with thanks, I have a God that makes all things NEW!

Baang Baang Tang

Had fun at MG today!
Baang Baang Tang HAHA!
Like after move 6/7/8 very difficult catch the rest of the dance.

Met YZ brother, and indeed like produces like, haha.
But funny guy lah.

Planning for thanksgiving quite fruitful.
Today's shopping trip was quite fruitful too with occasional digressing.
"When she says its about size, she's lying."
HAHAHA

I guess finally doing something i really love this holidays.
HOOO arts.

Don't wait for opportunities, MAKE your opportunities.

Transformation Week

Asia Conference is over!
But it was such a bang, Bang BANG!
New friends, new revelations, new CHAIR LINKS HAHAHA(Ivan if you see this)

Reporter: "How is it like serving 5 days in a row for Asia Conference?"
Me: "Its like doing the actual day of CHMA 5 times over and over again."

Friday, November 21, 2008

Only 3 more days to go!

Soiree - A Night of Stars

Happy to have made the  right choice with clothes haha!
Should thank des for the advice! HAHA
So stressful when i had so little to spend.
And Khee is annoying by saying that the whole school turned up with scarves.

The 4-3 buddies are obsessed over my ear HAHA

Yesterday night was really enjoyable and fun.
Haha waiting for pictures.
I won't comment much but i thought the food was the BOMB.
Super high-class hotel fare.
But didn't get to try any of the desserts; oh well.
I guess lots of picture-taking after the event, with a minor hiccup on the side.
Random squabblings that if you're interested in, ask me personally haha.

Went to pool at Marina where there was hardly a soul inside, i mean in sight.
Mainly all the chs people playing.
I didn't play in the end cos it was $10/hr.
Sent off Shawn to mrt where there were a lot of squirting going on.

That comment should make Perry high.
And speaking of which, Perry gets high on deo cos it has methanol!
HAHA

Hong Kong cafe with giant ice shaving, lovely night time snack.
BQ was chionging RD hahaha, randomly spamming facts.

Time check: 2am
Some of the guys went LAN while, Shan, Lum, YZ, Perry, BQ and me went somewhere else.
Ended up lounging in the lobby of Peninsula HAHA
IT WAS DAM FUNNY THAT NO ONE CHASED US AWAY
The hotel staff were probably more concerned about the drunk girls downstairs HAHA

YZ went to chiong after that.
And we went back to esplanade area where we saw a wasted Brian.
Their group was all there, quite surprised.
And then YZ started acting drunk by adding additional words to every sentence he says.
Perry says, "No good."

Ok our little adventure ended around dawn where we went to take the mrt home.
Fun, fun day.

Photos might or might not up.
But if you really are curious, just go to facebook.

The O Levels Diary Entry 14

Loving people fervently.
I guess sometimes we really, Really, REALLY have to try.
Haha

So many activities after O's woo!
Asia Conference, Birthdays, Cycling, Kayak, Dragon Boat, Resourcing?, Jamming...

Indeed greater things have yet to come.

All it takes to praise God is a willing heart.
I love the word.
I love the Spirit.
I love my God.

Fabulous Friday to Super Saturday.

Both messages equally amazing and really gave me a revelation.
It has been quite some time since i've received such a word.

Especially today, Dr Silvoso is absolutely amazing.
So many testimonies, so much faith, so much to look forward to.

The power of one.
The transformer.

He who is in me is more than He who is in the world.

When you're walking in the brightest days of you life along the beach,
Its easy to see the extra footsteps behind you and say that God is with you.
But in your darkest moments, because you cannot see any footsteps behind you,
You cry out and say, "Where are You when i needed you, God?"
And He says to you, "I am there. Those are My footsteps because I'm carrying you."

The O Level Diaries Entry 9

When i grow up i want to be a social engineer who gets paid to blog, tag replies, write on peoples' walls, kill their vampires, organise events online and basically work in front of a computer.
Yay for social studies.

Guidelines for setting history papers:

1)Essay questions must always pose a certain degree of challenge as candidates possess tomes of revision kits.
2)Sources for SBQs can be taken from online encyclopedias.

Screw Brewitenyehca. I should have said the source is unreliable because a whole cartload of users can edit the information.

The O Level Diaries Entry 5

A word a day keeps your essays so gay.

limn \LIM\, transitive verb:

1. To depict by drawing or painting.
2. To portray in words; to describe.

The O Level Diaries Entry 4

Today, i slept from 1.25am to 1.30am and when i got up, i thought it was 6am in the morning.
What a vision.

The O Levels Diary Entry 3

Get right with God,
Get right with geog.

The O Level Diaries Entry 2

I really love my tablet, helps loads with my revision since i'm a kinesthetic learner.
Saves the trees too, but eats fuel loads.

Pressing on, I can't wait for the week to be over.
Why does service day seem so far away?

And Roc's only console is his PS1[LOL]
And I have to go service to repair myself.

Ok stress relief.
Its just an everyday excuse to go berserk.

The O Level Diaries Entry 1

A BIG THANK YOU to all who have wished me well for the Big O's today.

Chem paper surprisingly easy(hoho, maybe all those 10 years series did count for something)
And yeah, i agreed with SY that 2 questions from 2005 came out again.
Oh and time passes so fast when you're doing the paper.

23 days.

War

Its 2 days, 2 days, 2 days before a nation wide epidemic breaks out.
The dreaded(anticipated?) O's are engulfing secondary schools with shadows of uncertainty.

Reality check, it starts in two days and ends in 24.
24 days of 24 hours.
The countdown begins.

Verbiage visage.
Vita la Vitualamen, Victus Pro Alius.

Testify

Use me as You will
To do the work You do
Help me to always fill
This gaping hole until its full.

Its never about work I do,
Or the many things that put me in a jam.
Never is it the things i fail to do
For i know You love me for who i am.

Take my heart
It belongs to you
Mould it, shape it
The way You always do

If i am the only one,
The only one whom You can use
The only one whom believes
When no one else does
The only one willing
The only one left, the only one left.

Lord, I will stand here to testify,
Testify of Your Love,
Your Truth and Your grace.
For no one other,
No, not another
Whom will see me through the day.

To My Friends Out There

I've found this post that i've wanted to post a long time ago but it couldn't have been more timely now.

Friends

For a start, i think that friends are play a really important role in everyone's lives.
That is to say they are an integral part of life and it would be quite impossible to live a happy life without a friend or two.
Some can't even live past a day without their friends :P

Which is to say that your friends will definitely have an impact on you.
The way you talk, the way you dress, the way you do things and the way you think.

Understanding this is very important because it will determine whether the rest of my post will be beneficial to you.

If friends can impact the way you think, they definitely can affect the way you do things.
They can affect your morals, your social acceptance and your self-confidence.
Ultimately they affect the way you see yourself.

If you lived a life with friends who love to play basketball,(:P)
naturally you'll be inclined to play basketball as well.

The reverse is true, if you always go out with a bunch of friends who don't like to do certain things(eg. pray), sooner or later you'll find yourself losing the need to pray.

Someone once said, "Your actions affect not just you, but the people around you as as well."

It is highly possible that your circle of friends will be affected by what you do or say.

But here's the twist: When someone acts, you can determine how you want to react.

Here i want to share an excerpt from a book I'm still reading called "Becoming Who You Are In God" by David Eckman.

"Whenever a choice is made for the flesh, an abandonment of peace, joy and love occurs."

Isn't it true?

Would you let love in or be comsumed by anger?

When someone comes and offend you, the clouds suddenly become greyscale(Yes God owns photoshop) and a storm is imminent, what would you do?

Do you retaliate?

Or would you choose to forgive that person instead and move on.

See, sometimes friends will unavoidably hurt you, but you must realise, what is more important.

Your pride?
Your anguish?
Your bitterness?

Or can you see how much more fruitful your friendship can be with that person if you can look beyond the hurt, look beyond how the person has treated you and take control of your emotions, and avoid the conflict.

Or will you let your emotions take control of you, and when you look back through the shades of remorse and regret, you ask yourself, "What I've Done?"

What I'm saying is that you should not let your emotions overrun your control over the situation you are in.
What I'm not saying is that you should give in to your friend all the time because they hurt you.

Relationships are based on the principle of giving and taking; - or sowing and reaping.
I've always believed in this.

In order for someone to first be your friend, what is needed is to first get the person out from the shell of just being an acquaintance.
Your job doesn't just end there.
You need to nurture him or her, feed your 'friend' with food about yourself.
It will take time, but slowly, you're providing the time and energy for the person to make the decision to consider this friendship.
And ultimately, bursting out of the cocoon is a new found friend!

I'd like to go on more about relationships but i wanna close in on just friends today.

So if friends can do so much, then indeed choosing the right friends are important throughout the course of our lives.
Especially if they are to be close friends.

Proverbs 12:26
"The righteous should choose his friends carefully,
For the way of the wicked leads them astray."

Open your hearts, my friends.
If a book with 'inconceivable ideas' can provide such practical advice, I believe there must a reason and purpose to it.

I'm just as shocked and grieved to type this as I've heard this message.
I can't be close friends with: unbelievers.

The rest were reasonably logical:
1)Lazy
2)Angry
3)Immoral
4)Greedy people cannot be my close friends.

But the one about unbelievers totally sort of blew my mind away.
But still, my reasoning and logic came in fast to tell me that if I couldn't relate God to someone whom I considered a 'best' friend, then there'd still a renouncing gap between the both of us.

Now this is rather a concern to me because i have quite a few close friends who are unbelievers.

That is the reason why i rejoiced when Yi Bin got saved(:

Maybe this why i felt it was easier to connect to people who believed in God and encourage them than those who didn't.

Maybe this was why i always liked to help out with Daph and KW.

Maybe this was why i found it hard to talk to people who weren't of God about my problems.

Maybe this was also why i found it hard to talk to people who weren't strong in their walk with God about my problems.

Close friends, i just wonder.
Can i even count to one?

With the weeks that are left, the ministry decrees that exams and education take precedence over everything else.

Sure early morning english lessons are demanding as we all know.

But don't forget, this will be the final week or so where all the people you know, love and cherish are still able to come the same place as you do.

Thank God for friends.

Something to end the post.
A classic redone to tasteful proportions.

You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
When the road looks rough ahead
And you're miles and miles
From your nice warm bed
Just remember what your old pal said
Boy, you've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got troubles, well I've got 'em too
There isn't anything I wo
uldn't do for you
We stick together and we see it through
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me

Some other folks might be
A little bit smarter than I am
Bigger and stronger too
Maybe
But none of them will ever love you the way I do
It's me and you
And as the years go by
Boys, our friendship will never die
You're gonna see
It's our destiny
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me

Obsession

Love my new watch.

Flying Along With You

Well happy or sad, i'm still going to praise the Lord!
Without moderation i fall short by 2 points, otherwise, i've achieved my desired 10 points!

What made me really, really, really glad was an A2 for english!
BREAKTHROUGH!

In any case, people around all focusing on 6 subs to clinch 6 points for their L1R5.
I might be wrong.

But that's what i want to do and more.

The child of God is promised to be the head and not the tail, above and not beneath.
The child of God is promised the land if  he wants to take it.
The child of God only lives in one time and that time is NOW.

More than 6 points, more than grades, more than ranking.

Let my life be a living testimony for Your glory.
That even with cell group, ministry and church, I will be able to do just as well if not better for O's.

Col 3:24-25
And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will
receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

And I Will Fly~
High Above the Clouds
Riding the Skies
Lifting Your Glory
Let All the Earth Watch Us Live in Love
Praising Your Name
And Fly Along With You

Going places, Seeing Faces

Went to buy stuff today.
Taking full use of the off day from exam haha.
Reached bugis at 10.40, 10 min later than the scheduled time.
Turns out Khee Ern will show up late so i decided to check out the bags first.
Buying on impulse, badump badump.

Not many shops opened, so i went city trekking!
Haha its so fun walking around Singapore.
Discovering your island home without public transport is way interesting.
Walked in a BIG circle around bugis, passing by Little India, the Concourse, Suntec City and Shaw Towers.
Will upload pictures once i've got my lappie.

Made a pit stop at national library(toilet).
I had to venture up 7 floors to find the water cooler.

Then bought the present and headed to J8 for my free lunch.
Ok it wasn't free, it cost me $2.10 for a drink and a sub.

Headed over to pl to preserve KE's balls where shortly after the cab driver was almost cheated into giving us a free ride to serangoon gardens.

16 layers again?
Who's willing to help?

5 Loaves and Two Fishes

"Take my five loaves and two fishes
Do with it as you will
I surrender
Take my fears and inhibitions
All my burdens, my ambitions
You can use it all
to feed them all"

5 Loaves and Two Fishes - Corrine May

Please get me to send you this song. Its absolutely beautiful.

iBlog

When Ervin told me that my iPod Nano was officially lagging by 3 generations officially today, I was surprised.
Just took a steal at the brand new batch of iPods.
Definitely Apple has been continually revamping their music players.
The Genius feature is irrefutably brilliant.
Makes my hands itch to get one.
Then again, it reminds me of how my current pod has managed to survive for 2 years.

Its got me thinking how much power the consumer has nowadays.
Consciously or sub-consciously, they know that spending is the way to go.
Perhaps this is why we created a culture whereby there is always an incessant need to spend, spend, spend.

Or it could reflect how quick the mind is when it comes to improvements.
The people at Apple have definitely taken a short amount of time to redevelop their products.

In any case, i would love a new iPod.
Ok maybe except a shuffle.

Calamine Lotion

Calamine, Calamine, Calamine lotion.
Calamine, Calamine.
........................................................

And i forget how the song goes.
Random.
The song, for some reason is stuck in my head.

Oh and studying overnight at airport is shiokingly tiring.
This morning, Jon and me were spamming Coffee Mate and sugar.
Like the whole tray got 10 over packets just for our 1 cup of coffee and tea.

Then we went to send Colby off in morning.
Won't be seeing him for a month :/
Have a great time in Texas! haha
Soak up some sun. Haha

Role Models

I've just realized how important role models are.
They provide people around them with the epitome of how their lives can be changed and lifestyles, edified.
People emulate their role models.

In our spirit, we have the epitome of Christ.

In our family?

Among our friends?

Within our campus?

Around our social circles?

In church, ministry or cell group?

Who are you modeling after?
This takes me to my next point, if we want to be so much like Christ, isn't it appropriate that we model after Him in every aspect of our lives?

If you can be a model and people can see Jesus in you, you would have effectively won souls to Christ.

Make friends with those that are better than you.
Who you spend time with is who you become.

Who will you decide to become?

Holidays?

Today i woke up with the sudden revelation that its september.
Its 6 weeks to O's.
Oh man.

Thanks to all the peeps who've been encouraging me so far, love you guys!

So far this hols has been rather slack.
Since saturday, its been "going places, seeing faces."
And of course the rain, the Rain, THE RAIN URGH.
VANS all wet, socks soggy and MY pants for sat's duty washing now
Hopefully back by sat.

Ok going back to revision, with FAITH.
I'm gonna ace my prelims.
!0 points, 10 points, 10 points!

Alright bye guys, leave you all with the word of the day:

glower \GLAU-uhr\, intransitive verb:
1. To look or stare angrily or with a scowl.

noun:
1. An angry or scowling look or stare.

FOP?

fop \FOP\, noun:
A man who is overly concerned with or vain about his dress and appearance; a dandy.

Interesting word.

Re-Faith

When you go down to the platform when you don't even realize its alter call, i gotta say, the message is convicting.
I was most surprised when i saw Timo responded along with me today.
Haha!

Time to reflect how much faith i really have in God.
Compared to a moment in the past, when i could trust God for everything, I feel that now i have no idea why i can't do the same.

But just as Pst. Casey says, "When you're down, you gotta work!"
Faith is like a muscle.
Every time you exercise it, it becomes stronger.

Its time to exercise my faith.

"The JUST shall live by FAITH." - Rom 1:17

When Little Becomes Much

It's amazing how the little things that we accumulate can add up to so much in the end.

Just like the parable of the feeding of the 5000.
How just 5 loaves and 2fish was more than enough for them.

The power of accumulation isn't one to belittle.

Let me show you a fine example:

When little becomes much.

Maybe this is the way we should learn to treat some of the things we have at hand.
In your hands, it doesn't seem much.
But when you give it to God, He can multiply it for you.

Last Sunday at Bishan, managed to catch these 2 spectacular sights:

Ok i'm off to get some rest.

God everyday will You just inspire me to pray.
Just one example a day to follow your way.

Following All In The Heart.
I will believe in the unseen.

Just a dedication post to all superteens:

Do visit the newly, created, just-as-i-knew-as-of-5-minutes-ago Superteens '06/08 blog!
Here's the link: http://www.siew-mai-rocks.blogspot.com/

Sorry i have no idea why i can't hyperlink it, safari doesn't allow it.

Do visit for updates!

I just realised its only about a month or so to O's.
Oh man, its like 3 days per subject - school hours, tuition, church and ministry.
God please multiply my time.
Gotta focus focus focus.

Speech writing today was killer.
"I like write i think i'm gonna say, but people like think what they're gonna write."
Maybe its thinking what you're going to say and say what you're going to think.
Then all it takes is to pen it all down.

Well i came up with something about discipline.
"Nothing will be done until you're done doing nothing."

Contemplate and appreciate.
Reflect, don't reject.

Ok time for some distressing:

What fruit do shoppers like to eat?

A: Mango

What god do shoppers worship?

A: Hermes

What did the poor singaporean say to the other poor singaporean?

A: "Money no enough too?"

Why did the lawyer had to do the dishes at the restaurant?

A: Because he couldn't foot the bail.

Ok enough i'm going to do work.

Song of the Day: Contemplations - Stentorian

I've just discovered a whole batch of sweet Corrinne May songs.

What did Hitler say when he met Stalin?

A: Now i can paint my room!

What did Stalin say when he met Hitler?

A: Now i can complete my painting!
Margt: Haha! Yes our gang is depleting haha!

I just thought i had to post this.
Came into my mind on sat after listening to the sermon by WH.
Message was partly about following God's ways.

Thought about it while walking to the MRT:
"God will make your way if you will make His day."

Pretty much sums up prayer in a way haha.

And after bible study today, i think i rediscovered the meaning of Faith.
Having Faith in everything we do, even the little things.

"The just shall walk by faith."

Praise God!

Blogging right from my brand new lappie!
Euphoria's the word, just like my msn hahaha.
Still trying to get adjusted to the keyboard though.
Indefinitely smaller.

Got back chinese results.
Splendid feeling it was.
A1 A1 A1!!!

But this time i reminded myself to be watchful, for those around me.
Unexpectedly familiar scene of many disappointed faces.
Fairly ominous? Maybe.
I wanted to be there for those that didn't make the cut.

Well guys & gals, you gotta put the CL results aside and start psyching yourself for EL Oral.
Keep in control what you STILL have control over.

Galatians 6:9
"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."

PRAWNED

If my blog is a an otherwise a reflection of my prayer life, it would be pretty accurate these past two weeks.
I don't know why, i find myself in the position of the one that's chasing instead of the one that's running ahead.
And its taking a toil on my prayer life.
I don't know why i've been giving up prayer for homework.
It just doesn't feel right.
I've been quite lost about what to do, until maybe yesterday.
I was reminded of something which Pastor said a long time ago.
A time when i kept the word close to my heart.

"There isn't a convenient time to do anything."

Its time to get started on prayer once again!

On another note,
KE and me caught a $30 prawn :/
We got PRAWNED.

Oh well we had a ball of a time.

And desiree is the annoying "you-reap-what-you-sow" girl.
Sheryl has morbid fantasies.
Daph is jigsaw's new apprentice.
Ivan is the prawn pawner.
Davin just cannot catch anything.

Oh well back to more studying this week.
And praying too. :)

Loving FOP.
Haha its 2 days or serving for me, but quite an experience i must say.
SIS so much different from expo. I think i practically can memorise how to get to anywhere in SIS already, including backstage and operations area.

Running from external into logis is not as easy, that's one thing for sure haha.

Anyway, manage to get Khee Ern to come for FOP!
Thank God Kang Wei came out at the instant i needed him.

Sat night/Sun early morning of the FOP weekend was most memorable indeed.
Super big gulp half down in seconds.

French, i mean honey glazed toast with peanut butter.
->Credit goes to Calista for suggestion haha!

Mango cream...Yummy :P
Hong Kong Cafe was the bomb!

And also we had a slight misadventure after supper.
It included:
- 2 angry souls
- 3 poverty-induced souls
- a 7-eleven that does not allow netts top-up for ez-link
- 2 free nightrider tickets
- a generous bus uncle
- a generous security guard
- $2.10

Back to mugging. I'm finally clearing that whole stockpile of homework.
Its been leaving me breathless.

Fernandez says that we are stressed LOL.
Ok no insight from inside for today.
I forgot it since i came up from the lift just now.
